Beachcomber Motel
Best for: beach-first dog parents who want sand under paws within five minutes of check-in
The flagship, perched directly on the bluff above MacKerricher State Park, the Beachcomber puts 10 miles of dog-walkable beach and the Coastal Trail right out the back door. The outside deck and fire pits face the Pacific, and a set of special dog rooms come with their own private outdoor park built for the reality of sandy paws and a dog who’d rather be outside than in. This is the pick for travelers who want their dog’s feet in the sand within five minutes of checking in.
Surf & Sand Lodge
Best for: couples and small groups who want a quieter, boutique feel without giving up the view
Just down the bluff from The Beachcomber, the Surf & Sand has a different feel—more boutique, with private decks and balconies that lean into the ocean view. Same beach access, same family standards, slightly quieter footprint. A good fit for couples, smaller groups, or travelers who want the coast as wallpaper without giving up dog-friendly basics.
Beach House Inn
Best for: travelers who prefer creekside calm over open ocean, and an easy walk to the trestle
Across Highway 1 from the bluff properties, the Beach House Inn sits on Pudding Creek—a different kind of waterfront, tucked into the trees rather than facing open ocean. The setting trades surf for shelter, which some dogs (and their humans) prefer. It’s also a short walk to the Pudding Creek trestle and the north end of the Coastal Trail.
Anchor Lodge — Coming Soon
Best for: harbor lovers who want working-boat views with dinner steps away
The newest addition, acquired alongside the Wharf Restaurant in October 2025. Anchor Lodge sits in Noyo Harbor—a different scene from the bluff, with working-boat views and a more nautical feel. The 20-room property is currently being updated to Hunt family standards, with the Wharf Restaurant adding a coastal-cuisine option onsite. Worth keeping on the list for 2026 trips.
