Dog-friendly Fresno County
Right in the middle of our state, Fresno County is the capital of California’s agriculture and a gateway to some of the most spectacular scenery in the Sierra Nevada. Take Highway 41 north to Yosemite National Park, or head east to explore Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, where leashed dogs can enjoy campgrounds, picnic areas, and paved paths among giant sequoias.
Closer to the city of Fresno, the Woodward Regional Park offers an off-leash dog park and miles of trails along the San Joaquin River. The Fresno County Parks system includes scenic spots perfect for a day hike with your pup. For a taste of the local food scene, stroll through downtown Fresno’s Tower District where many restaurants feature dog-friendly patios.
