Adele's Cafe sits inside the San Clemente Inn and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a patio where dogs are welcome to sit alongside their owners. The kitchen turns out gumbo, fish tacos, cinnamon rolls, and a meatloaf that people genuinely rave about. There’s live entertainment most evenings, which adds a nice energy to the place without being overwhelming.

The patio is where you’ll want to spend time with your dog on a nice day. You get decent views of the surrounding area while you eat, and the setup lets your dog relax next to the table rather than being stuck inside. The daily specials board outside the entrance usually reflects whatever’s seasonal, so it’s worth checking what they’re running that day beyond the regular menu items.

I’d mention calling ahead about their current dog policy since restaurant pet rules can shift, but based on how they’ve operated, they’re genuinely comfortable with dogs on the patio. Just be respectful of other diners — keep your dog close and calm, bring water if they need it.

The location works well if you’re spending time in downtown San Clemente anyway. The beach is walkable from here, and you can easily loop back to grab a bite before or after a walk with your dog along the sand. The town itself has a nice laid-back vibe that doesn’t feel overly touristy, even during peak season.

Food-wise, the gumbo is worth trying if they have it, and the fish tacos are solid. The cinnamon rolls are legitimately good if you want something sweet with coffee. Nothing on the menu feels phoned in. You’re getting actual effort in the kitchen, not just basic cafe fare.

It’s a straightforward, friendly spot that happens to accommodate dogs well. The live entertainment makes it feel less like a grab-and-go situation and more like a place where you might actually linger for a bit.
