The park divides into three separate areas so dogs under 20 pounds have their own section away from the bigger dogs—a setup that actually works well in practice since it keeps the play styles from clashing too much.

What struck me during my visit was how much shade the park has, which matters when you’re out there in the San Joaquin heat. There are water stations scattered throughout so your dog won’t get dehydrated, and waste disposal bins are placed conveniently around the grounds. The seating areas are genuinely useful too if you want to sit and watch while your dog plays rather than standing the whole time.

The layout gives you decent sightlines across the play areas, so you can keep an eye on what’s happening even when dogs are running around. The picturesque Central Valley setting is a bit of a stretch—it’s still Stockton—but the open space itself feels less cramped than a lot of urban dog parks. The park hosts occasional events and activities throughout the year, which builds a real community feel among regular visitors if you’re interested in connecting with other dog owners in the area.

Parking is accessible right there near the entrance, and the whole setup makes it easy to pop in for a quick session or spend a longer afternoon.
