This unique campground offers tent camping sites, trailer and RV sites with hook-ups, rustic bunk-style cabins, and free hot showers for all registered guests. It’s a solid base for exploring Mammoth Lakes, whether you’re planning day hikes or just want a comfortable place to crash with your dog after time outdoors.
The heart of the property is the historic recreational lodge, where you can gather to play board games, ping pong, or settle in with a book by the rock fireplace on cooler evenings. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually run into other campers and might end up chatting about trail recommendations or favorite local spots.
Every campsite comes with a fire pit, picnic table, and bear box—essential for this area. Each site includes two parking spots, though if you need additional parking, it’s $5 per extra car per day if space allows. Check-in is at 1 PM and checkout at 11 AM. The front desk operates from the lodge, where you can buy firewood, bug spray, sunscreen, and other basics you might have forgotten.
All campsites are dog-friendly as long as you follow local leash laws. Your dog will have plenty of space to move around the property, and the setup with picnic tables and fire pits means you can keep them close while you’re settling in.
Walk-ups are welcome, so you don’t necessarily need a reservation. If you’re not camping but want to use the shower facilities—which is handy if you’re in the area for the day or staying elsewhere—non-registered guests can pay $5 at the front desk. Hot showers are included free for anyone staying on the property. Most sites are fairly spacious, giving both you and your dog room to stretch out after a day in the mountains.
