Centrum Dog Park

4855 Ariva Way, San Diego, California 92123

Centrum Dog Park sprawls across a generous fenced area in northeast San Diego with separate zones for small and large dogs, allowing plenty of room for dogs to move without constant negotiation. The main field rolls with natural grass and packed earth, with a smaller section reserved for dogs under 25 pounds, making it genuinely useful for owners of tiny or anxious dogs who don’t want to be bowled over.

Dogs are welcome during posted hours, and there are no fees. The park has water stations scattered throughout, which matters during San Diego’s warm months—your dog can drink without having to leave the fenced area. Shade comes from mature trees, though midday sun exposure is real, so morning or late-afternoon visits work better than midday. The fencing is secure, and separate gates between the small- and large-dog sections keep the groups distinct.

Located on Ariva Way in the Sorrento Valley area, the park sits near commercial buildings and residential neighborhoods, not far from major employers in the tech and biotech corridor. It’s roughly equidistant from Highway 805 and Highway 56, making it accessible from multiple parts of San Diego. The terrain is relatively flat—good for older dogs or those still building stamina. Peak times tend to be early morning and early evening on weekdays, with larger crowds on weekend mornings. If you go on a sunny afternoon in summer, you might have stretches of the park nearly to yourself, which some dogs prefer.
