Days Inn by Wyndham Bishop sits right along Highway 395 in Inyo County, which means you’re basically positioned for everything the Eastern Sierra has to offer. I stayed here with my dog while exploring the Bishop area, and the location alone is a huge advantage—you’re close enough to get out on trails or head into town without much fuss.
The rooms are straightforward and clean. Nothing fancy, but they do the job well enough, and staff was fine with us having our dog there. The outdoor pool is nice if you want to cool off after a hot day exploring the high desert. Given Bishop’s elevation and summer temperatures, that can be a real draw after you’ve been out hiking around the area.
They include a continental breakfast, which I appreciated since it meant we could grab something quick and get moving in the morning. It’s not a gourmet spread, but it takes care of the basics so you’re not hunting for a cafe before heading out.
The Highway 395 location is worth noting—it’s convenient for getting around, though you’ll want to be mindful of traffic noise if your dog is sensitive to that kind of thing. The area around the motel is pretty standard roadside hotel territory, so don’t expect a quiet, tucked-away setting. That said, Bishop itself has good dog-friendly options nearby once you venture into town.
If you’re planning to spend time in the Eastern Sierra and want a reliable, pet-friendly place to crash that doesn’t require a steep budget, this works. The combination of being on the highway and having basic amenities makes it practical for dogs and their people who are more focused on what’s outside the room than what’s in it.
