Hidden Pines sits on Highway 1 north of Fort Bragg beneath coast redwoods, spread across 18 acres with enough distance between sites to prevent crowding. The property mixes RV pull-throughs, back-in spots, and separate tent areas across gentle terrain. Full hookups are available for RVs, along with partial and water-only options. Tent camping sites scatter throughout with their own access roads. The layout gives dogs room to move around without immediately meeting neighboring campers’ setups.
Dogs are welcome throughout the campground on leash, including both small and large breeds. Keep them close around the office and common areas. Highway 1 runs directly past the property, so road noise reaches some sites more than others—ask about placement if quiet matters to you. The location gives dogs access to nearby exploration: Van Damme State Beach day-use area sits about ten minutes south with a protected cove and sandy beach where you can walk right down to the water (leash laws apply). Jug Handle State Natural Reserve, another short drive away, has trails through a reversing creek environment that are dog-friendly on leash.
The campground operates seasonally from spring through summer, so call ahead to confirm dates and availability. Tent sites run smaller, so measure your setup against the marked spaces before settling in.
