Imperial Beach in San Diego, often referred to as the “Most Southwesterly City in the U.S.,” is actually the southernmost beach town in California, located just five miles northwest of Tijuana, Mexico. The restriction makes sense as it keeps certain stretches clear, but it’s worth checking before you head down with your dog so you’re not caught off guard.
