Please Note: This is a nudist resort. Laguna del Sol is a full-service destination resort about 20 minutes south of Sacramento with RV and tent camping options plus accommodations, including two pet-friendly park model cottages. The 250-acre property has the kind of amenities you’d expect from a resort—4 pools, 3 spas, a full-service restaurant, and a clubhouse with live music most weekends—but what makes it work for traveling with your dog is that the place doesn’t treat pets like an afterthought.
All RV sites are pet-friendly at no extra charge, with 100+ spots offering electric and water hookups (21 have sewer too). The grounds include hundreds of grassy tent sites if you’re towing a camper or just want to pitch a tent. The two pet-friendly park model cottages give you another option if you want a bit more structure than camping but less hassle than managing an RV.
The dog-specific amenities are genuinely useful. There’s a fenced off-leash dog park where your dog can actually run around, and miles of walking paths thread through the property—good for morning and evening strolls or just burning off energy between activities. The lakefront restaurant deck allows dogs, so you can grab lunch without having to leave your dog behind at the campsite.
The resort also has a lake with pedal boats and kayaks, a river with a sandy beach, tennis courts, pickleball courts, an archery range, and various water sports and volleyball setups. There’s a fitness center, rec room with pool and ping pong tables, two laundromats, and two sanitary dump stations if you need them.
The combination of serious amenities and genuine dog-friendliness makes this more practical for an extended stay than a quick overnight. Your dog gets actual space to roam, and you’re not sacrificing comfort just because you’re traveling with them. The property handles the logistics well enough that you can focus on actually enjoying your time there.
