Lake Tahoe State Park/Spooner Lake

The easy and well-maintained Spooner Lake Trail offers pleasant views of the lake and its waterfowl, evergreens, wildflowers, and in the fall, blazing red aspen groves. Routes to Marlette lake and the Flume Trail can also be accessed. From South Lake Tahoe, it's about a 25-30 minute drive to Spooner Lake.

Getting there: From Carson City, head south on U.S. 395 to U.S. 50 West. Head north on State Route 28 to the Spooner Lake parking area.

This is a popular bike ride, so for your dogs safety it is best to keep them on a leash. Please remember to clean up after your dogs.
