Lawrence Park in Lodi is a straightforward spot for an afternoon with your dog. The park sits in a residential area where you can walk around without worrying about too much hustle and bustle. It’s a solid choice if you want to get outside for some exercise without driving far from town.
The park itself has open areas where dogs can move around, though you’ll want to keep your dog on leash—it’s the standard for Lodi’s parks. The grounds are decent for a casual walk, and on quieter days you might find other dogs around, which can be nice for some socializing if your dog is into that.
If you’re looking for options in the same area, Lodi actually has several dog-friendly parks worth knowing about. Beckman Park sits at the corner of Ham and Century boulevards and offers similar walking space. Vinewood Park is on the back side of a school property on W. Tokay Street, so it tends to be quieter during school hours. Peterson Park over on Evergreen Drive has a walkway on the south side that’s popular for dog walks.
Lodi Lake is another option just north of the main lake area on W. Turner Road—it’s a scenic spot if you don’t mind the extra drive. Keep in mind that dogs need to stay leashed there too.
One important thing to remember across all these parks: dogs aren’t allowed on the sporting fields themselves. So if a park has active ball fields or courts, stick to the surrounding grass and pathways. It’s worth calling ahead if you’re heading somewhere for the first time, just to confirm current conditions or any seasonal changes that might affect where you can walk.
