Living Springs sits deep in a forest of giant cedars and pines, with Mount Lassen National Park just 20 minutes away. The centerpiece is a one-acre spring-fed pond stocked with trout, where your dog can splash in the shallows while you cast a line or just watch the water. Kids can fish right on the property without needing to drive anywhere, which is a solid win for families.

The location works whether you’re serious about fishing or just want to escape into the mountains. Grace Lake is 10 minutes away, Lake McCumber 15 minutes, and Manzanita Lake 20 minutes—each offers different vibes and access points. The surrounding terrain opens up for hiking and mountain biking, and Mount Lassen itself provides those bigger adventure days if you’re up for the drive.

Accommodation options are flexible here. They offer spacious RV sites with full hookups (electricity, water, sewer) if you need them, or dry camping if you’re keeping it simple. The recently refurbished cabins include a two-bedroom, one-bath unit with a full kitchen, and a one-bedroom cabin is coming soon. They also have seven campsites near the pond and a tent site right along Mill Creek, most with picnic tables and fire pits. Your dog will appreciate the space to move around between campsites and the water access, though you’ll want to keep an eye on fishing line and hooks if your dog is the type to investigate everything.

The setting here feels genuinely peaceful rather than crowded—you’re in the forest, not in a developed park with constant activity. The spring-fed pond adds something special that you don’t get at most RV parks. Getting there is straightforward: head east from Redding on Highway 44 for about 30 miles, then turn onto Mill Creek Road. The resort entrance is a half-mile from the highway.
