The small-dog section here sits in a corner of Los Gatos Creek County Park, separated by its own fence so your dog won’t get bowled over by larger dogs tearing across the main area. The setup feels practical rather than fancy—grass underfoot, some mature trees providing actual shade, and enough room that dogs can move without constant collisions even when it’s moderately busy. On our visit, the enclosure held maybe a dozen small dogs at once, and nobody seemed stressed for space.
Dogs under 25 pounds have their own fenced area, while larger dogs use the main park acreage. Water bowls are available in both sections, though we brought our own to be safe. The park operates dawn to dusk, and afternoon hours tend to draw more crowds—morning visits are noticeably quieter if your dog prefers calmer company. There’s no fee to use the dog park; it’s free to Santa Clara County residents and open to visitors as well.
The park sits right along Dell Avenue in Campbell, just north of Highway 880. The immediate surroundings are mostly residential, with parking in a small lot right at the entrance—usually easy to find a spot. The terrain is flat, good for senior dogs or puppies still building stamina. On warmer days, bring more water than you’d think necessary; the tree coverage helps but doesn’t shade the whole area. The park shares grounds with hiking trails along Los Gatos Creek if you want to walk your dog before or after the fenced section, though those trails require dogs on-leash.
