North Natomas Regional Park spreads across 212 acres in Sacramento with enough going on that you could easily spend a full afternoon here with your dog. The big draw is the dual dog parks—one for larger dogs and one for smaller dogs—so your pup gets a dedicated space to run around with others their own size. Both areas are well-maintained, and the separation means smaller dogs won’t get overwhelmed by the bigger crowd.

Beyond the dog parks, the park has a pleasant lake that’s nice to walk around, with paths that wind through the property giving you and your dog something to explore. There are sports fields throughout if you want to kick a ball around, and bikeways connecting different sections if you’re interested in a longer route. The Lawn Amphitheater hosts events occasionally, and the Sacramento Farmer’s Market sets up here regularly, so if you time it right you can browse local produce while your dog relaxes on the grass nearby.

Picnic areas are scattered around the park, some with tables and shade, which makes it easy to settle in for a bit. There’s a small play area for kids if you’re visiting with children too.
