San Ramon has four dog parks scattered throughout town, each with its own vibe depending on what you and your dog are looking for. The biggest draw is Bark and Ride, a 4.5-acre park that shares space with a 50-space park-and-ride lot at the intersection of Bollinger Canyon and Stoneleaf Road. It sounds like an odd combination, but it actually works well—you get easy access whether you’re driving or biking, and there’s bike storage if you prefer two wheels. The park itself is divided into separate areas for small and large dogs, with drinking fountains, picnic tables, and benches scattered around. There are enough trees to provide real shade, which matters on those warmer days when you don’t want to be completely exposed.
If you want something smaller and more low-key, Del Mar Park at the corner of Del Mar and Pine Valley Road is just 0.8 acres—tight but fine if you’re doing a quick visit with your dog. Memorial Park is the opposite extreme: 16 acres on the corner of Bollinger Canyon Road and San Ramon Valley Boulevard, so there’s genuine room to roam if your dog likes to cover distance. For an even quicker outing, Tassajara Ridge on Windemere Parkway is 0.5 acres and works well when you don’t have much time.
The best part about San Ramon’s setup is that the parks aren’t clustered in one spot, so depending on where you live in town, you’ll likely have something reasonably close. Each park has its own character—Bark and Ride feels more developed and social, while the smaller parks offer a quieter experience. The main thing to know is that policies can vary, so call ahead to confirm what’s required at whichever park you’re planning to visit.
