The Bench sits right along the cliffs at Pebble Beach Golf Links, and the views of the Pacific—rocks, cypress trees, crashing waves—are the real draw here. It’s a casual spot, nothing precious, which makes it far more dog-friendly than you’d expect at a resort restaurant. The outdoor patio faces west toward the water, and you’ll actually see golfers and the fairways spread out below you alongside the coastline. It’s the kind of place where your dog can settle on the concrete while you eat, and nobody minds if they’re taking in the salt air too.
Dogs stay outside on the patio, which works fine because the covered portions have heat lamps and the whole setup feels open and airy rather than cramped. Water bowls appear without asking, and the kitchen will sometimes toss treats across the table. There’s no weight limit or special reservation requirement—just show up with your dog and grab a table on the patio side. The restaurant serves casual California fare: salads, sandwiches, fish, burgers. Portions are substantial and prices reflect the location, but the food arrives fairly quickly.
The patio itself is generous, with plenty of space between tables, so your dog won’t be brushing against strangers’ legs. Seating faces the ocean views, and you’ll see the 17 Mile Drive winding along the rocks below. The place opens for lunch and stays open through dinner; afternoon fog can roll in hard, especially in summer, so bring a sweater for yourself and consider timing your visit for late morning when the light is clearest. Parking is part of the Pebble Beach resort lot—free if you’re dining—and you’ll walk through the resort grounds to reach the restaurant. The patio doesn’t require reservations, but the indoor dining does, so if the weather turns truly foul, you’d need to call ahead to see about indoor overflow space for dogs.
