The Big Bear community is extra pet friendly, and that hospitality extends to the many restaurants that welcome your pups on their patios. In addition to its gourmet donuts and made-to-order toasts for humans, Dank Donuts also makes dog donuts with vet-approved ingredients. Oliver’s Emporium in The Village makes its own special doggy treats too.

For a casual breakfast in The Village, Amangela’s Sandwich & Bagel House is pet friendly and a good option for trail-friendly takeaway fare. Old Country Inn hits the spot for all American diner style breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another longtime classic, Nottinghams Tavern is a guaranteed crowd pleaser, while Pines Tavern on the Lake boasts one of the best lakeside views in town.

Dig into burgers and brews at local favorites such as the aptly named The Bone Yard Bar & Grill and Big Bear Lake Brewing Company. Sip a glass of wine paired to delightful bites at Barrel 33 in The Village. Or try the “mountain upscale” fare down the street at Stella Luna, a newer addition to the dining scene known for its seasonal, modern Californian fare and craft cocktails.

Satisfy your Mexican cravings at Hacienda or Azteca Grill—the latter of which has a dog menu. Up the heat ante with the Indian flavors of Himalayan Restaurant. There’s something for everyone at Santana & Mavericks, known for its eclectic, family-friendly menu. Wyatt’s Grill & Saloon serves up a side of country western dancing on Wednesdays.
