DogTrekkers consistently list hiking as a Tahoe favorite, followed closely by beaches and water fun. The Shirley Canyon Trail combines it all. This ski run doubles as a rigorous fall hiking route from the base of the Palisades Tahoe Aerial Tram.

Follow the trail for three scenic miles before splashing in Shirley Lake, and continue two more miles to reach High Camp. Grab a snack, snap some photos, and board the tram with your pup. It’s a free ride down the hill. See more of our favorite trails.
