Drive about five minutes north from Little River Inn to reach Big River State Beach. The west side of the beach is popular for on-leash adventures, while the nearby multi-use Big River Trail extends along a 10-mile haul road with wildlife-watching opportunities and views of the Big River estuary. Leashed pups can also play on the beaches and trails of MacKerricher State Park or explore 50 acres of flowers at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens.
