You might spot seals or otters along the water depending on the time of day. The Big River Estuary itself is calm enough for kayaking if that’s something you’re interested in doing separately. Some people like to spend an hour at the beach and then take a longer walk the trail to make a full afternoon of it.

The west side of the beach is genuinely dog-friendly rather than grudgingly tolerant, so your dog will have actual room to move around.
