Humboldt County is best known for its Redwood National & State Parks, freshwater lagoons and rivers, beautiful beaches, and Bigfoot. Whether your BFF (Best Furry Friend) is a forest explorer, a river runner, or a beach splasher, Humboldt County has everything for the perfect pet-friendly adventures. Prairie Creek Redwood State Park boasts both towering redwoods and beautiful beaches, and the park’s dog-friendly Cal Barrel Trail.

This old forest road is lined with redwoods and thick layers of fern on the forest floor for your furry pal to snuffle through.

Take your pup south and off-the-beaten path to explore Shelter Cove and Black Sands Beach. Wind down with fantastic BBQ and brews at Gyppo Ale Mill brewery. The patio is magic when the fog rolls in, and fit for even the most discerning dog. Catch a sunset with beautiful ocean views and curl up next to the fire pit or find some yard games for your pack to play.

Put your paws up for the night at The Inn of the Lost Coast. Your BFF will love the welcome treats and dog-friendly beach nearby.

Or give Rover room to roam in this vacation home with 16 acres of waterfront bliss. Relax next to the fireplace with a good book, glass of wine and a good dog.
