Bark Park Dog Park at 41220 Park Avenue is Big Bear Lake‘s main spot for off-leash play, situated on the south side of the lake between the Village and Moonridge. The fully fenced park is divided into separate areas for large and small dogs, so every dog can socialize at their own comfort level without getting overwhelmed by size differences.
Agility features including tunnels and platforms give active dogs extra stimulation beyond the usual game of fetch. Your dog can run and play off-leash within the enclosed areas, which is genuinely freeing if you’re used to keeping them on a line. You’ll need to supervise at all times and clean up after your dog. Water bowls are typically available, but bringing your own supply is worth doing, especially on warm days when the sun reflects off the lake and things heat up fast.
The park sits adjacent to Meadow Park and Ski Beach Park, so you can easily extend your outing with a leashed walk along the lakefront paths. The surrounding area has picnic tables and open green spaces if you want to sit for a while and let your dog rest in the shade after playing hard. It’s a nice setup because you’re not locked into just the dog park itself.
The park is open daily from dawn to dusk with no entry fee, and free parking is available in the surrounding lots. It gets busy on weekends and during peak summer season, so arriving early in the morning or on a weekday gives you more room to move around.
