Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa sits on a hillside in Laguna Beach with a real sense of quiet—you’re away from the main drag but close enough to walk down to the village if you want. The hotel has that Mediterranean villa feel with terraced gardens and ocean views, and the staff treats dogs like regular guests, not an afterthought.

The rooms are genuinely comfortable, nothing cramped or dark. I stayed in one that opened directly onto a garden path, which made it easy to step outside with my dog without bothering other guests. The gardens themselves are lovely for a morning walk before heading out for the day. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel rushed or watched—you can move around at your own pace.

The location gives you solid options for time with your dog. The beach access in Laguna is limited compared to other Orange County spots, but there are a few areas where dogs can walk along the sand during certain hours, and the tide pools are interesting to explore even on leash. The trails above the hotel and through nearby neighborhoods offer good hillside walking with ocean views. Heisler Park is walkable from the hotel and has some nice bluff-top paths.

What actually makes a difference here is that the staff doesn’t make you feel like your dog is an inconvenience. There’s no elaborate pet package or premium fees to navigate—it’s just straightforward accommodation. The spa is nice if you want an hour to yourself, though you’ll need to arrange dog care; the front desk can point you toward local options.

It’s the kind of place that works if you want a relaxed coastal stay without the busier-feeling hotels down in the main beach areas. Come with realistic expectations about beach access, but the gardens and proximity to trails make it a solid choice if Laguna Beach is where you want to be.
