Homestead Trail

Homestead Trail

The Homestead Trail, also known as The Cross Hike, is a moderate three-mile hike up to the Palm Desert Cross features beautiful views of Coachella Valley. Be sure to carry enough water for you and your dog, this somewhat steep trail is completely exposed to the sun.

Nestled within the picturesque 27-acre Cap Homme/Ralph Adams Park, the Homestead Trail is a favorite for dog-friendly hikes in Greater Palm Springs. The trail’s challenging inclines provide an engaging experience for both dogs and their human companions, with the ultimate reward being the breathtaking panoramic vistas awaiting you at its summit.

This trail is especially popular for nighttime hiking, offering the chance to witness the beautiful illumination of Greater Palm Springs under starry skies. Even if you opt not to ascend the trail, the expansive park area at the mountain’s base presents ample space for leashed dogs to roam, sniff, and explore to their heart’s content (on leash).
