Kate's Lazy Desert Airstream Motel is the California outpost of Kate's Lazy Meadow, an upstate New York "village" of renovated Airstream trailers named by Travel & Leisure magazine and the Sunday Times of London as among the 100 best hotels in the world. Both are owned by Kate Pierson of the B-52s. The Joshua Tree version features six vintage Airstreams restored to wacky perfection by artists Maberry-Walker, whose house is featured in the band's "Love Shack" video. Each accommodates two adults only (there is one double bed). You'll also have a hammock, a little barbecue grill, a coffee maker and basic cooking utensils.
