Lake Gregory Dog Park

Lake Gregory Dog Park

Lake Gregory Dog Park

Lake Gregory’s dog park sits right at the edge of the recreation area’s main lake, so you get actual water views while your dog runs—not just a fenced lot with some trees. The park is genuinely spacious, split into separate sections for dogs under 25 pounds and larger dogs, which means smaller pups aren’t constantly dodging hundred-pound retrievers.

Dogs are allowed off-leash in the designated dog park area only. The fenced sections are spread across grass and decomposed granite, with decent shade from mature pines that ring the property. There’s a water fountain for dogs and access to the lake itself, though the shoreline is rocky rather than sandy. The park is open dawn to dusk, and mid-morning weekdays are noticeably quieter than weekend afternoons when families from the surrounding mountain communities show up in force.

The dog park is part of the larger Lake Gregory Regional Park, which sits at around 4,600 feet elevation in the San Bernardino Mountains near the town of Crestline. The facility charges a small day-use fee for entry to the park itself. The terrain around Crestline can be steep and winding—the drive up from lower elevations takes time, so this works best as a destination visit rather than a quick stop. Summer weekends draw crowds, but spring and fall mornings are peaceful. Bring water and a leash for the walk to and from your car, and note that the elevation means cooler temperatures year-round, even on warm valley days.
