Shasta, visitors can head west on W. Lake, crossing over I-5, then turn left onto Old Stage Road at the stop sign. After 0.25 miles, they can veer right onto WA Barr Road and continue south, turning right into the parking lot just before crossing over the dam that impounds the Sacramento River and forms Lake Siskiyou.

The parking area sits right at the dam, giving you immediate access to the trail without any long walks beforehand. The path itself winds around the tranquil lake, offering stunning views of the surrounding Shasta Cascade region throughout your hike. The well-maintained trail accommodates both leisurely strolls and more challenging treks depending on how much distance you want to cover with your dog. The water views stay with you for most of the walk, and on clear days you get occasional glimpses of Mount Shasta itself in the distance.
