Nevada Beach and Campground

Dog-friendly Nevada Beach is located about a mile from the parking lot at Highway 50 and Kahle Drive.

A portion of this .7-mile-long beach, one of the most beautiful at Tahoe, is dog-friendly. Most of the strand is attached to Nevada Beach Campground, where dogs are allowed in campsites but not picnic areas near the water. To find the dog-friendly strand, follow the signs and trails to the boat-in picnic beach.

A paved bike trail and maze of hiking trails lead through the section of Toiyabe National Forest bordering the lake. It’s about a mile along the historic Lam Watah Trail from the (free) parking lot at Highway 50 and Kahle Drive, just north of the Lakeside Resort Casino. In season (mid-May through mid-October), you can access the beach via the campground for a day-use fee.

Once at the sand, stay right of the fenced-off private beach and left of the orange buoy marking the border of the campground swimming beach.

Campground reservations can be made as far as six months in advance.
