Riverwalk RV Park sits right along the Eel River in Fortuna, giving you that constant sound of flowing water and easy access to some genuinely beautiful surroundings. The grounds are well-maintained and feel peaceful without trying too hard about it — the kind of place where you can actually relax instead of feeling like you’re in a parking lot.

This location works well as a base for exploring the Redwood Coast. The Avenue of the Giants is close by if you want to walk among those massive trees, and it’s an easy drive to the beaches along Highway 1 or up into the mountain rivers. Ferndale with its Victorian architecture is just minutes away if you want to poke around a charming small town. Everything feels accessible from here without feeling crowded.

The park itself has a mini-mart on site if you forgot something, plus some antiques and collectibles to browse if you’re into that. WiFi coverage spans the whole park, which is genuinely useful when you need it. They stay open year-round, so you’re not locked into summer trips.

Getting there is straightforward enough. From the south on Highway 101, you’ll pass through Scotia and Rio Dell, then take the Kenmar exit. Hang a left at the off ramp, go under the freeway, and continue a quarter mile to the entrance. Coming from the north past Eureka, it’s the same Kenmar exit but you’ll turn right instead. The river location means you’re hearing water instead of traffic noise, which makes a real difference in how a night feels.
