Ski Beach Park is a popular 16-acre park on the south shore of Big Bear Lake, and it’s one of those places where you can easily spend a full day without feeling like you’ve exhausted what’s there. The park sits at 41216 Park Avenue and offers direct beach access to Big Bear Lake, so you and your dog can wade into the water and walk the shoreline together. Beyond the water, you’ll find open green space, two ball fields, sports courts including pickleball and tennis, a large playground, and a picnic pavilion with tables if you want to settle in for a while.

Dogs need to stay leashed throughout the general park areas, but that’s not really a limitation once you know Bark Park is right next door. Big Bear’s dedicated off-leash dog park is adjacent to Ski Beach, so you can easily combine a leashed lakeside stroll and some time exploring the open park with off-leash play time without much effort. It’s a nice setup if your dog is a mixed bag of energies.

The park keeps practical things in mind for dog owners. Waste bag stations are scattered throughout, and there’s a water fountain your dog can access when needed. You’ll also find restrooms and picnic facilities if anyone in your group gets hungry or needs a break.

Ski Beach Park is open year-round with no entry fee, and parking is free on-site. The park is wheelchair accessible if that matters for your visit. Since there’s no entry charge and the combination of beach access, green space, and the neighboring off-leash option makes it easy to customize your time here, it works well whether you’re planning a quick stop or a longer afternoon.
