Tenaya at Yosemite has elevated the Yosemite experience by introducing 50 stand-alone, two-bedroom Explorer Cabins, and all are dog-friendly. Located in Fish Camp, these cabins introduce the refined “cabineering” concept, offering a modern mountain stay without sacrificing the comforts you’d expect from a full-service resort.

The setup gives you real choices depending on what you’re after. Some cabins feature bunk beds in the second bedroom and are grouped together, which works great if you’re traveling with other families or want that community vibe. Others are positioned for more seclusion and scenic views if you’d rather have privacy with your dog after a day on the trails. The mountain setting means you’re close enough to Yosemite’s main attractions but far enough removed to actually feel like you’ve escaped.

Every cabin comes with practical touches: two souvenir water bottles (handy for refilling on hikes), and a s’mores kit. Guests get exclusive access to the Explorer Lounge at the main lodge, plus all the resort amenities—which matters when you want to grab a meal or use facilities without dealing with crowded park facilities.

Communal fire pit areas are scattered throughout the cabin clusters, and they’re genuinely social spaces. After hiking, you can roast marshmallows under the stars with your dog nearby while other guests do the same. It’s the kind of setup that naturally encourages conversation without forcing it.

Being in Fish Camp puts you in a reasonable position for accessing Yosemite Valley and the surrounding parks. Your dog can adjust to cabin life easily—they’re standalone structures, so you’re not dealing with thin walls or shared entrances that stress out dogs in traditional hotels. The two-bedroom layout also means if you’re traveling with people, everyone has their own space to decompress in the evening while your dog settles in.
