Plan ahead for a pawsome Yosemite adventure in 2025

Summer is one of the most stunning—and popular—times to visit Yosemite National Park. To preserve the park’s beauty and ease congestion, a temporary vehicle reservation system will be in place for peak dates in summer 2025. Don’t worry—your unforgettable dog-friendly adventure is still within reach. Here’s what Yosemite Mariposa County wants you to know before you go.

From May 24–26, June 15–August 15, and August 30–September 1, visitors entering Yosemite between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. will need a vehicle reservation. This three-day reservation, available on Recreation.gov starting May 6, 2025, costs $2 and is required even if you’re just passing through. Planning to stay overnight in the park or enter outside peak hours? You’re exempt!

These measures aim to enhance visitor experience and protect Yosemite’s natural beauty. Remember, you can always enjoy dog-passionate Mariposa County anytime. With a bit of planning, your Yosemite adventure will be smooth, scenic and unforgettable.
