The Society Dog Park

1021 Harvard Way, El Dorado Hills, California 95762

(619) 235-1152

The Society Dog Park spreads across a generous fenced area in a residential neighborhood, with enough room that you won’t feel like your dog is constantly bumping into others even on moderately busy days. The park divides into a larger section for standard dogs and a separate small-dog area, so if you’re bringing a smaller pup or one that prefers calmer play, you’ve got real separation from the wrestling matches happening on the other side of the fence.

Dogs can roam freely throughout both sections on natural surfaces—a mix of grass and decomposed granite that drains reasonably well after rain and doesn’t turn into a mud pit. Water stations are available, though on warm afternoons you’ll want to bring extra water since the park has minimal shade coverage. The smaller-dog area gets some afternoon shade from nearby trees, which helps during peak heat hours. The park operates during daylight hours; visiting early morning or late afternoon works better in summer months when the sun bears down directly on the open field.

The park sits in El Dorado Hills, a foothill community about 20 miles northeast of Sacramento. Harvard Way runs through a quiet residential area, so the surroundings are suburban rather than scenic, but the park itself is well-maintained by the El Dorado Hills Community Services District. Weekends tend to draw more dogs, particularly Saturday and Sunday mornings when the small-dog area becomes genuinely social. Parking is available in a small lot adjacent to the entry gate. If you’re passing through the region or live nearby, this is a solid spot for a dog to burn off energy without long drives to mountain parks, though bring a ball or toy since the open field invites chase games on grass that most dogs find satisfying.
