Bonita Ranch sits in the foothills of the San Bernardino National Forest near Lytle Creek, about 1500 feet above the valley floor where the air clears above most of the smog. The location puts you close enough to San Manuel Amphitheater, Auto Club Speedway, and San Bernardino Airport if you need those amenities, but far enough away to feel genuinely away from it all. The creek runs year-round along the east edge of the property—small and manageable most times, but a decent-sized stream in spring when snowmelt comes down from the mountains.
Weather here is moderate. Winters bring some snow, though it doesn’t stick around long. Summers can hit the upper 90s occasionally, but upper 80s is more typical, and that elevation keeps things comfortable compared to the valley. Most sites have shade, which makes a real difference during those warm months.
The campground has practical amenities. Free WiFi means you can stay connected if needed. There’s a large 10-foot barbecue pit with a winch to raise and lower the grill—genuinely useful for groups planning to cook together. If you’re bringing your dog, you’ll appreciate that this is a working RV park with actual outdoor space where dogs can move around. Bonita Falls is a short hike up the canyon behind the property if you want to stretch legs beyond the campground.
Day use is available if you just want to spend an afternoon. The place handles group events—picnics, family reunions, company gatherings, weddings. They offer special club rates for groups of 10 or more RVs with a two-night minimum. Getting there is straightforward: take the 15 freeway to the Sierra Avenue exit, head north as it becomes Lytle Creek Road, and continue about 6 miles to South Fork Road. Watch for the Bonita Ranch sign on your left.
