Caspar Beach RV Park sits right at the edge of a cove where the bluff drops to sand, and you can hear the ocean from most campsites—some sites have actual beach access through a gate. The park sprawls across a mix of terrain with both RV hookup spots and standard tent sites positioned in trees and open areas, so you get real variety depending on what you’re towing or carrying. It’s a working campground, not a resort, which means the focus stays on getting you close to the water and the trails that run along this stretch of Mendocino coast.
Dogs stay free at Caspar Beach RV Park and can roam leash-free within the campground boundaries, though they must be on leash when moving between sites and heading toward the beach area. Most RV sites have full hookups (water, sewer, electric), and standard campsites have fire rings and picnic tables. The park includes both pull-through and back-in RV spots, and several tent-only areas if you’re not bringing a rig.
The main draw is access to Caspar Cove Beach and the trail system that runs north toward Point Cabrillo. From the park you can walk straight onto sand or take the bluff trail that connects to the broader coastal path—it’s gentle walking with views, and your dog will get saltwater beach time without fighting crowds. Beachcombing is solid here, especially after storms, and the cove offers some protection from bigger swells. The town of Caspar itself is just a few buildings, so most supply runs will be in Fort Bragg about five miles north on Highway 1. Campground gates close at 10 p.m., and peak season (May through September) fills quickly, so calling ahead for a summer weekend is advisable.
