Yosemite Mariposa County is an amazing place to be this time of year. Winter thawing into spring invites warmer weather, beautiful scenery and plenty of adventure for you and your four-legged pal. Think: gazing at a magnificent waterfall, rolling in the remaining snow or playing in the snowmelt-fueled water (safely, of course). It’s amazing.

And all that fun pawing around is sure to work up an appetite. Luckily for you, and your doggo, there are plenty of pet-friendly dining options in the area…and they’re all worthy of a 5-paw rating.

1850 Restaurant

Good vibes, tasty food, local beer and a dog-friendly outdoor dining area: welcome to 1850 Restaurant. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, enjoy burgers, salads, sandwiches, seafood, steak and a variety of other tasty options. And don’t forget to try one (or two) of 1850’s many locally-brewed beers with your best little pal by your side.

Grovehouse

You and your pup can enjoy live music, craft beer and a rotating farm-to-table menu at Grovehouse, located in Mariposa. Dogs, drinks and jams? Talk about yappy hour.

Little Shop of Ramen

Spring may be blooming, but the air can still have a crispness to it this time of year. And what better to pair with that cold air than a hot bowl of ramen? Located in the historic Gold Coin Building in downtown Mariposa, the Little Shop of Ramen is dog-friendly and doggone good.

Castillo’s Fine Mexican Food

Enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere, affordable prices and amazing Mexican food at this fine Mariposa establishment. After a day of Yosemite fun, nothing beats sitting outside on the patio with a burrito on one side and your best friend begging for a bite on the other.

Sticks Coffee

Whether you need a morning wake-me-up before a day of hiking or an energy boost after said hiking, River Rock Inn’s Sticks Coffee — in Mariposa — serves locally-roasted small batch coffee, baked treats and is all sorts of dog-friendly. Of course, dogs love this place — it’s called Sticks, after all.

Happy Burger Diner

Decked out with vintage vinyl records and their trademark happy face — as well as the “Largest Menu in the Sierra” — The Happy Burger in Mariposa will put a smile on your face (and your dog’s too) with its diner favorites and Americana charm.

Whether you’re looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner — or maybe just a quick break away from the Yosemite beauty to enjoy a locally brewed beverage, be it coffee or beer — this is just a small collection of the dog-friendly dining options in Yosemite Mariposa County. Typically, if there’s an outdoor patio, well-mannered dogs are allowed to join you at your table. But be sure to call first to confirm.
