Rainbow Pool, on the South Fork of the Tuolumne River, is a family-friendly spot with picnic tables, restrooms and a parking lot.
The pool is actually a series of pools fed (in spring) by a waterfall that provides a photogenic background.
Directions:
• Drive 15 miles east of Groveland on Highway 120. Watch for signs on the right side of the road. Signs for Cherry Lake Road on the left are another indicator that you have arrived. Turn right into the day-use area and find a parking spot. The swimming hole is just a few steps down the hill.
• Please keep your dog leashed around other people and dogs, and please pick up after your pet.
