Big Bear Lake

Big Bear Lake

The town of Big Bear Lake and Big Bear Lake itself offers a dog-friendly paradise in the picturesque San Bernardino National Forest, just 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles. At 7 miles long and 1/2 mile wide, the lake offers a wide range of outdoor activities for you and your furry friend to enjoy.

When it comes to water activities, Big Bear Lake is a delight for water-loving pups. Your four-legged pals can jump right into the water and splash around to their heart’s content. Not only that, but the 22 miles of shoreline trails surrounding the lake provide ample space for you and your dog to embark on memorable nature walks together. So, grab a frisbee, a ball, or your pup’s favorite water toy and head out to make a splash in the pristine waters of Big Bear Lake.

Caution: Toxic blue-green algae is a risk at Big Bear Lake. This toxic cyanobacterium is extremely dangerous and deadly for dogs. Ensure the water is safe before letting your dog on the beach and in the water by checking lake safety/algae information, calling Big Bear Municipal Water District at (909) 866-5796 and/or checking water quality at mywaterquality.ca.gov.
